ETIC joins European consortium in sustainable project

ETIC is part of an European consortium within the 3DP STeF – 3D Printing for Sustainable Textiles and Fabrics project, approved under the Digital Europe Programme, and recently travelled to Chania, Greece, to take part in the project’s first official meeting.

This programme stands out for promoting the practical application of digital technologies in real-world contexts, strengthening the digital transition of the economy and society. The 3DP STeF project focuses on sustainable innovation in the textile and manufacturing sectors, exploring the potential of 3D printing applied to sustainable textiles and fabrics. The initiative aims to empower students and professionals from the fields of fashion, design, engineering, and architecture through master’s programmes and micro-credential modules centred on additive manufacturing and green digital skills.
Through this collaboration, ETIC will contribute to the development of new educational methodologies and to the training of a new generation of professionals prepared to lead the twin digital and ecological transition in the textile sector.
With a duration of four years, the project brings together 16 European partners from education, research, and industry, including institutions from Greece, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Poland, Ukraine, France, and Portugal.

ETIC’s participation represents an opportunity to strengthen its role at the intersection of technology, creativity, and sustainability, reinforcing the school’s commitment to aligning creative education with the technological and sustainable challenges of the future, and actively contributing to the development of a more innovative, responsible, and digital textile sector.
