    The School

    ETIC – Education & Inspiration for Creatives was founded in 1991 as a leading school in the Creative Industries.

    The school is recognised for its innovative educational approach, combining practical learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and strong interaction with the creative industry – community, companies, and institutions. Students work on real projects, developing a professional portfolio that positions them at the forefront of both national and international creative markets.

    In addition to national certification, ETIC offers international certifications accredited by the British education system.

    ETIC – Education & Inspiration for Creatives operates under the training entity Escola Técnica de Imagem e Comunicação Aplicada, reflecting its commitment to excellence and innovation in creative education.

    Admissions and Applications

    What are the requirements to apply for a course at ETIC?
    Applying to ETIC is accessible and flexible. In general, we consider:

    • Completion of Year 12 (preferred), or relevant professional experience;
    • Interest and motivation in the chosen field;
    • Portfolio (when applicable).

    More than formal criteria, we value potential and commitment to learning.

    How does the application process work?

    1. Start your online application (via the “Apply” button) on the course page, including a motivation letter, portfolio or showreel (if available)
    2. Interview with the Course Coordinator (when required)
    3. Submission of documentation
    4. Final decision and place confirmation

    Are there specific application deadlines?
    Yes — ETIC operates with:

    Phase I – January to September – All ETIC courses (International and National Certification)
    Phase II – September to January – National Certification Courses only (Semester courses and Specialisations)

    Early application is recommended due to high demand and a maximum of 18 students per class.

    Courses and Teaching Structure

    What types of courses does ETIC offer?

    • International Certification Courses – 2 or 3 years, leading to a professionally recognised qualification at both global industry and academic levels
    • National Certification – Annual Courses – 1 academic year, preparing you for a future profession with recognised certification
    • National Certification – Semester Courses – 1 semester, ideal for entering a new field or exploring an area of interest
    • Specialisations – 1 semester, for those with prior knowledge who want to deepen their expertise
    • Workshops – Short, highly focused training (up to 40 hours)
    • Tailor-made Training – Custom-designed training plans

    Are the classes more practical or theoretical?

    The methodology is highly practical, based on a “learning by doing” approach. It includes strong hands-on experience, often in real work contexts, guided by active industry professionals.

    Do I need English skills to study at ETIC?

    Only for International Certification courses, where a minimum B1 level is recommended (as classes and project work are conducted in English).
    Students applying directly to the 3rd year must provide proof of a B2 level.

    Careers And Employability

    Does ETIC support career integration?

    Yes. The school has a Careers Office that:

    Which companies recruit ETIC students?

    Mainly creative agencies, audiovisual production companies, design studios, fashion brands, video game companies, music and tech companies, among others—many of which partner with ETIC.

    Do students find jobs easily?

    Employability rates are high in creative and technological fields, thanks to the strong practical component and portfolio development.

    ERASMUS+ Programme

    ETIC offers a mobility programme that allows selected final-year students to undertake internships in various European countries.
    Access to funding is based on an application process, with selection based on academic performance and project quality.

    Internationalisation And Recognition

    Are ETIC courses recognised?

    ETIC is a training provider with 35 years of professional validation, certified by DGERT (Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations).

    Internationally, ETIC is accredited by PEARSON BTEC, awarding a Level 5 qualification (240 CATS) after completion of 2-year programmes.

    Solent University recognises ETIC’s 3rd year, granting equivalence to Level 6 (120 CATS) in the United Kingdom.

    They vary by course and include:

    Yes, several flexible payment options are available.

    Where is the school located?

    In central Lisbon, near Cais do Sodré, at Rua D. Luís I, no. 6 and no. 20, with easy access to public transport (metro, bus and train just minutes away).

    Portfolio, Projects and Production

    Can students use the studios for personal projects?

    Yes, subject to booking and approval by the internal team.

    Are final projects presented publicly?

    Yes — through exhibitions, film screenings, fashion shows, showcases and digital portfolios.
