Erasmus+ at ETIC: Some journeys begin long before you pack your suitcase

Some journeys begin with a plane ticket. Others begin with an application, a confirmation email, and the certainty that, for a few months, life will unfold somewhere new. The next group of ETIC students selected to embark on the unforgettable Erasmus+ experience has now been announced.

Meet the selected students and read their testimonials below.

    GRAPHIC DESIGN AND MULTIMEDIA

    Afonso Carvalho

“I feel incredibly happy and honoured to have been selected for the Erasmus+ programme.
I hope this opportunity will be a truly transformative experience, contributing to my personal growth and helping me develop as a future professional.”

    Carolina Gonçalves
“I was so happy to be selected, but I have to admit I also felt a little scared. It’s a completely new experience, and that naturally comes with some initial uncertainty.”

    Claud Bita

“When I found out I had been selected for the Erasmus+ programme, I was so happy I could hardly believe it. The best part is that I received the news just two days before my birthday, so I can honestly say it was the best present I got this year.
This opportunity is a dream come true, and I’m sure it will make a huge difference in my creative, personal and professional life. I’m ready, with an open heart, to explore my creativity beyond borders.
Thank you to everyone who believed in me and for this incredible opportunity :)”

    Inês Martins

“Being selected for the Erasmus+ programme is recognition of a journey marked by new beginnings and reinvention. I embark on this experience with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility, hoping not only to develop new skills in graphic design but also to bring a fresh perspective to my creative journey.
    I can’t wait!”

    Margarida Carvalho

“When I found out I had been selected, I felt a mixture of happiness and fear. It was exactly that fear that confirmed going on Erasmus was the right decision!
I’m ready to step outside my comfort zone, rediscover myself, and come back even better than when I left :)”

    Vitória Oliveira

“Being selected to take part in the programme felt surreal. I felt that all my hard work and commitment had been recognised in such a rewarding way, and I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.
I know it will be a unique and enriching experience, and I’m determined to make the very most of it!”

    ANIMATION AND VIDEOGAMES

    Jeremias Santos

“I am delighted to know that my creative project found people on the other side who welcomed and understood it – and, above all, that the work and conviction I invested in it have been recognised through this selection, which I receive with gratitude and a renewed sense of purpose.

There is a quote by Josep Borrell that, despite the controversy it sparked, has stayed with me: ‘Europe is a garden. Most of the rest of the world is a jungle. The jungle could invade the garden.’ Although I do not share the worldview suggested by such a stark opposition between ‘garden’ and ‘jungle’, I find the metaphor compelling in what it reveals about the fragility of a garden. A garden must be cultivated, it passes through seasons, it transforms itself and, if neglected, it withers away.

Perhaps that is how I prefer to think of Europe: not as a place to admire from afar, but as a shared space that only remains alive while it is explored, questioned and continuously rebuilt by those who inhabit it, especially when faced with threats to its vitality and freedom.

That is also why the possibility of leaving Portugal represents far more to me than simply travelling abroad. It is the opportunity to encounter new ways of creating, living and thinking; to seek possibilities beyond the place I know that I might never have found otherwise; and to discover how far my work can take me once it is no longer confined by the physical, professional and even personal boundaries that have shaped it until now.

I hope Erasmus+ will enrich my journey while also redirecting it—in the very best sense. If a garden thrives not only through what is planted in it, but also through what it yields, I leave expecting to return transformed and fruitful, while also leaving a part of myself in every place I have the chance to experience.”

    João Brito

“I’m incredibly happy and excited to have been selected for the Erasmus+ programme. It’s an opportunity I want to make the most of. I can’t wait to step outside my comfort zone, explore, create unforgettable memories and embrace everything this experience has to offer!”

    Maria Benedita Oliveira

“I was so excited when I found out I had been selected for the Erasmus+ programme. I’ve worked incredibly hard to get here, and I can’t wait for the adventures ahead—especially my very first professional experience in my field!”
    Pedro Lopes
“When I found out I had been awarded an Erasmus+ internship, I was overwhelmed with joy. I honestly didn’t think I would get one—not because I lacked confidence, but because I know that no matter how good you are at something, there is always someone who can do it even better.

Being selected means I’ve come a long way, and I have no intention of letting this opportunity go to waste.”

    FILM AND TELEVISION

    Daniela Godinho

“I’m incredibly proud to have been selected and thrilled to see my work recognised. I can’t wait to experience new challenges, work in another country, discover new places and immerse myself in a different culture. I know this opportunity will help me grow immensely, both personally and professionally.”

    Denilson Mairosse

“Finding out I had been selected for Erasmus+ was an enormous relief and a great joy. It was the result of a tremendous amount of hard work throughout the academic year, culminating in this incredible honour. Now it’s time to set sail on the next chapter of my life and discover who I’ll become by the end of it. Thank you very much.”

    João Quintas

“Being selected for the Erasmus+ programme is an opportunity I embrace with great enthusiasm and a strong sense of responsibility. I know this experience will allow me to grow both personally and professionally through constant contact with new cultures, people and ways of working, all of which will be incredibly valuable for my future projects and for the community I’m part of.”

I approach this experience with great enthusiasm and excitement, looking forward to learning, discovering new realities and developing skills that I believe will be essential for my future.

Although I’m highly motivated regardless of the destination, I have a special hope of completing my mobility in Spain, as I believe it would be a particularly enriching experience and one that aligns perfectly with my dreams and goals. Thank you.”

    Pedro Agostinho

“I was delighted to learn that I had been accepted into the Erasmus+ programme. I already have several plans and ideas for how I want to make the most of this opportunity professionally.

I’m certain it will have a hugely positive impact on my learning and will also help prepare me for the reality of living abroad, something I hope to do in the future. I’ll now give my very best to secure the best internship possible.”
