ETIC-Produced Documentary Joins the “Memórias Viajantes” Series at the Navy Museum

The documentary “O Último Carpinteiro do Tejo”, directed by André França, a student who completed the third year of Film and Television at ETIC in the 2025/26 academic year, will be screened on 22 July at 5:30 p.m. in the Educational Division Hall of the Navy Museum, Lisbon, as part of the “Memórias Viajantes” series.

Following its premiere at the 7th edition of SINAPSE at the Portuguese Cinematheque, the documentary will now be presented to a new audience, highlighting the potential of ETIC’s student productions beyond the academic environment.

“O Último Carpinteiro do Tejo” pays tribute to Master Jaime, one of the last remaining shipwrights dedicated to building and maintaining the traditional boats of the Tagus River. By following the construction of a traditional vessel—possibly the last one ever built by the master—the film documents both a tangible and intangible heritage that is at risk of disappearing.

This screening marks another step in ETIC’s commitment to showcasing its students’ work in prestigious cultural venues, bringing their films to wider audiences while celebrating the school’s emerging creative talent.
