ETIC RISING connects students with companies
The ETIC RISING – Portfolio Showcase once again proved to be a valuable bridge between ETIC’s graduating students and the creative industries. Both editions of the initiative, dedicated to showcasing student portfolios to companies and industry professionals, received highly positive feedback from participating organisations, confirming the event’s impact in creating opportunities for recruitment, internships and networking.
The first edition took place on 19 June and brought together students from the Graphic Design and Multimedia programmes, with the participation of six companies. On 24 June, students from Animation and VideoGames, Film and Television, Photography, Fashion, and Music and Sound presented their projects to fifteen companies from the creative industries.
Across both events, students had the opportunity to present their portfolios in one-to-one meetings, receive valuable feedback from industry professionals and connect directly with potential employers.
The evaluation surveys completed by participating companies revealed a very high level of satisfaction. At the first event, dedicated to Graphic Design and Multimedia, every participating company completed the survey, awarding average scores ranging from 4.17 to 5 out of 5. The initiative’s ability to effectively connect the school with the job market received the highest possible rating, while 100% of the companies stated they intended to participate in future editions.
The second event, which brought together students from five different subject areas, received equally strong results, with average scores ranging from 4.25 to 5 out of 5. Companies praised the organisation, the event format and the students’ skills, with 87.5% confirming they would like to return for future editions and the remaining respondents indicating they would consider doing so.
The companies also highlighted the students’ talent and technical preparation, as well as the initiative’s effectiveness in identifying candidates with strong potential for recruitment and internships. The event atmosphere, organisation and logistical arrangements were consistently recognised as key strengths across both editions.
Overall, participating organisations described ETIC RISING as a highly valuable initiative for the creative community, recognising it as an important platform for discovering emerging talent and strengthening the connection between education and the real needs of the creative industries.
These results reinforce ETIC’s commitment to providing learning experiences that bring students closer to the professional world while creating meaningful opportunities to enter the creative industries, continuing the school’s “learning by doing” approach and its mission to prepare future professionals for the challenges of the job market.
