From the Classroom to the City of Rock: ETIC Event Production Students at Rock in Rio Lisboa

 

For more than two decades, ETIC has been part of the history of Rock in Rio Lisboa and, in 2026, once again provided its students with a unique real-world learning experience. Over the course of nearly two months, 24 Event Production students joined the teams responsible for the production, build-up and delivery of the biggest edition of the festival to date.

Throughout the project, the students had the opportunity to experience the inner workings of one of the world’s largest international music festivals, working alongside professional teams and taking part in highly complex operations. This experience allowed them to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom, develop new skills and gain first-hand insight into the scale and demands of producing an event of this magnitude.

Working across a wide range of departments, the students contributed to key areas including Artistic Production, Technical Production, Partnerships, Accreditation, the Social Project, Creators, Licensing and Public Authorities, Operations, Back Office, Press Support, Warehouse Operations and Talent Management.

The team also worked across several areas of the City of Rock, including the World Stage, the BacanaPlay Digital Stage, the Super Bock Stage, the VIP Tent and the backstage dressing rooms, supporting every stage of the operation and helping deliver an unforgettable experience for thousands of visitors.

The participation of ETIC’s Event Production students at Rock in Rio Lisboa once again reinforces the long-standing partnership between the school and the festival. It is a collaboration that continues to bring students closer to the professional world while demonstrating the value of learning through real industry experience.
