Open Day: a journey through the magical world of ETIC!
On a journey imagined and “produced” by the Event Production class, the destination was to introduce ETIC and spark the creativity of everyone who made a point of being there. With boarding passes printed and check-in completed, it was time to embark on an Open Day that proved to be a truly magical experience.
The first steps led towards the various guided tours spread throughout the school, showcasing its spaces, equipment, and all the creative areas that make up ETIC. Amid smiles and eyes lighting up at what was being presented, the Open Day began to take shape while the journey was still just beginning.
With introductions made and any formality set aside, the next stop promised to demonstrate the creative spirit that defines everyday life at the school. With workshops in Animation and Video Games, Film and Television, Design and Multimedia, Photography, Fashion, and Music and Sound, each visitor’s path led them towards the many talents and dreams that filled ETIC on a Saturday marked by enthusiasm.
Conversations, cameras, fabrics, animated characters, and sound software set the tone, drawing many of the creatives who embarked on this experience to the Hub. As hunger began to set in and lunchtime approached, it was at the Hub that snacks accompanied live performances by students from the Music and Sound department. In a moment of affirmation for those who took to the stage, the audience did not disappoint, responding with applause and cheers of support.
The journey didn’t end without guests asking questions during information sessions, visiting a screening room featuring projects by various students, and wandering through Atmosferas, which was fully dressed for the occasion with several exhibitions and a stage prepared to welcome a new wave of musicians taking their first steps later in the afternoon. The VIÉS Panorama talk was also scheduled for the afternoon, moderated by Gabriela Stamford and featuring guests Luís Santos, Tatjana Jourdain, and Marta Cordeiro. The conversation, focused on the Fashion area, proved highly enriching, addressing topics such as education and careers in the contemporary industry.
With boarding passes stamped full of experiences, the magical world of ETIC revealed itself to the school’s future students.
