“Reflexão, Improvisação” Film at IndieLisboa!

The film Reflexão, Improvisação, created by students from ETIC’s Film and Television programme, has been selected for the Novíssimos competition at IndieLisboa 2026. Dedicated to emerging filmmakers who are either at the beginning of their careers or still in training, this is one of the festival’s most significant sections.

This year, the competition brought together 13 short films distinguished by their diverse cinematic languages, worldviews, and artistic approaches. The inclusion of Reflexão, Improvisação in this selection represents an important recognition of the work developed by our students and pedagogical team.

The film features a special appearance by acclaimed Portuguese drummer and composer Gabriel Ferrandini and offers a sensory experience built through observation and listening. According to the synopsis, “through improvisation, we emerge into a visual and sonic experience, following a musician.”

The project is the result of the work of students Miguel Brás, Lívia Picon e Mendes, Inês Pinheiro, Gonçalo Pereira, Leonor Bonifácio, and Tomás Palma. The poster photography was created by Santiago Machuca.

The pedagogical team involved in the project includes Pedro Cabeleira, Nuno Rua, Paulo Soares, Alexandre Afonso, and Pedro Senna Nunes, who guided the film throughout its creative development.

The selection of Reflexão, Improvisação for the Novíssimos competition further strengthens ETIC’s connection to both the national and international film landscape.
