Rock in Rio Lisboa: ETIC Delivers Live Broadcast of the BacanaPlay Digital Stage!
During the four days of Rock in Rio Lisboa 2026, ETIC managed the technical operation of the BacanaPlay Digital Stage through its outside broadcast truck. The school handled the capture and live transmission of all stage content to the festival’s giant screens and streaming platforms, supported by a fully equipped broadcast control room located backstage.
Throughout the festival, the team delivered around 12 hours of live broadcasting each day, bringing every performance and stage moment to audiences both on-site and online. The backstage broadcast infrastructure recreated a professional television environment, giving students the opportunity to experience the demands of a real-world production.
The operation involved 21 students from ETIC’s Film and Television, Directing, Camera Operation, Production and Sound programmes, working alongside a specialised technical team and a presenter responsible for hosting the live broadcasts throughout the festival.
This was a unique opportunity to take part in a highly demanding technical operation, where every live broadcast depends on the coordinated work of dozens of professionals. From directing and camera operation to production and sound, students were involved in every stage of a professional live television broadcast, developing essential skills for the audiovisual industry.
ETIC’s presence at the BacanaPlay Digital Stage further strengthens the school’s long-standing partnership with Rock in Rio Lisboa and once again highlights the value of learning through hands-on experience at one of the world’s biggest live entertainment events.
